A beautiful soul in a dark world.

For this drawing I used Prismacolor colored pencils. The rose petals I used: scarlet lake, poppy, crimson lake, dark purple, carmine, and black grape. For the leaves/stem I used: cream, mineral orange, artichoke, limepeel, olive, kelly, pale sage, and tuscan red. Background: black. I used strathmore paper. Derwent HB sketching pencil.

Oh thank you soo soo much!! It is a smaller drawing of 5x7 and it took me between 8-10 hours to complete it.

I see, that's small indeed, that background must have been hell, even on a small drawing!

Oh yeah that background was nightmare! I had to keep the black pencil really sharp at all times to navigate between the petals and leaves and so I was constantly sharpening the pencil and went through 2 pencils because of it. Yeah, it was a pain. Sorry for the book...and the late reply.

I've got an electric pencil sharpener recently, it works on batteries and it's fantastic!

Oh an electric pencil sharpener would have really been useful then and now. Maybe I wouldn't have so many blisters. xD
